"It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect.”
Psalm 18:32

Lady Juana J. Johnson was born in Stuttgart, Germany, the 3rd of 4 children and only daughter of H. L. & Bernice Lewis. Her early childhood was greatly influenced by a God-fearing, praying grandmother who regularly took her to prayer meetings where testimonies, scripture readings, healing and deliverance were a large part of the services.

Despite the frequent relocating lifestyle of growing up in the military, her family finally settled in St. Louis where she attended and graduated from Normandy Senior High School in St. Louis County, Missouri.  She subsequently graduated from St. Louis Municipal School of Nursing and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from St. Louis University.

Lady Juana married Tyrone Cox in 1975 (deceased in 1995) and is the mother of three children, Dameena, Jandi, & Kaelan. She has one grandson, Boston.

She worked at St. Louis University Hospital for 36 years, her entire nursing career. She holds a master’s degree in Gerontology and Administration from St. Louis University and is a former director of Nursing at St. Louis University Hospital.

She received the gift of the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues in January of 1986 and was baptized in Jesus’ name at Lively Stone Church of God in St. Louis, Missouri after which she began attending Bethesda Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith.

On May 16, 2004, Sister Johnson married his eminence, the Honorable Bishop James A. Johnson, the former presiding bishop of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, the pastor of Bethesda Temple Church, and the diocesan of the 12 Episcopal District of the Midwestern District of the P.A.W.  They shared a wonderful and unique, God-inspired and God-ordained marriage.  During those years, much wisdom and knowledge was imparted to her from the Lord through Bishop Johnson.  She cared for him until his death on May 21, 2015.

Lady Juana continues to be an active member of Bethesda Temple Church, serving the Lord in several capacities. She was the founder and past president of the Bethesda Temple Church Women’s Council. She served as president of the Women's Retreat for over 10 years. She served as a member and an advisor to the Sisterhood Auxiliary and Fellowship Committee. Sister Johnson has held many positions at her church but currently serves as chaplain and board member of the Bethesda Temple Bible Institute, where she teaches many of the courses. She is also the assistant secretary of the executive board of directors and the advisory board of the church.

In May of 2020, Lady Johnson graduated from Urshan Graduate School of Theology in Wentzville, Missouri with a Master of Divinity degree. She continues to seek higher education and is committed to working in the vineyard in whatever capacity the Lord directs.
